NUFFNANG COMMUNITY UPDATE 4: AUGUST 22, 2007

Dear Nuffnangers,

The past couple of weeks have been good ones for our community as a whole. We now have 2500 Nuffnangers in our ranks and are still growing. Here are a couple of highlights.

Rush Hour 3 Event on National Day
Nuffnang SG’s first community event was held on National Day at GV Vivocity. We booked out the entire Hall 4 (The 2nd largest cinema in Vivocity) to host 250 bloggers, press, and advertisers to an exclusive screening of Rush Hour 3.

The event was well received, and we ran out of tickets a week before the event itself!

Besides the movie, there were goody bags, and a reception with food and drinks too! For more information, you can check out our blog entry at http://nuffnang.com.sg/blog/?p=33

We’ve had lots of feedback regarding the organization of the event. Good and bad. We will take stock of these comments to improve upon our next event.

Special thanks must go to Super Coffeemix Ltd for sponsoring their yummy Kimchi Cup Noodles and Café Nova sachets!

Unveiling our new logo and NN2.0
People who attended our event also got an opportunity to preview our new logo. I’m sure you have noticed it on all our pages, and also on your default ads.

It is one part of a project we call Nuffnang 2.0, which will see significant improvements, on the aesthetics front and also on the technological end .

This is due to launch in October, and you may catch a video preview here.

I will miss our old logo, but am also excited about this new growth curve Nuffnang is moving towards.

New Feature
I would like to take this opportunity to announce a new feature. As our community has grown to a suitable critical mass, we have incorporated a feature into the “Add Ads” page of our blogger account.

Here, you may choose to minimize your default ad units to a small unintrusive tab. Why do we still have this tab?

For practicality reasons really.
1) When an advertiser is considering your blog site, he can indeed see you serve Nuffnang Ads
2) When we check placements before a campaign is launched, we can do so effectively

In the near future, we will include an option to serve charity ads. We have launched this with great success across the causeway, and many Nuffnangers have felt a genuine sense of satisfaction doing their bit for society in general.

You may find one of the malaysian initiatives here. http://nuffnang.com.my/blog/?p=110

Nuffnang Feature on Sunday Times (22nd July, Click)
For those who did not catch it, Nuffnang was featured on the Sunday Times on the 22nd of July. One full page! An extract can be found on my personal blog, http://nuffnang.blogspot.com/2007/07/update-update.html

Nuffnang SG’s first community event!

Last week was National Day, when Nuffnang Singapore first held its first community event!

The day before, Boss Ming got the whole team together and gave us all a briefing about the upcoming event.

We all got down to business and started to pack the goodie bags, with the help of Ringo!

We began forming a Nuffnang production line:

Lee Meng stuck the Nuffnang stickers on the goody bags, while Lance organised the goodies. Ringo and Suet Li rolled up the SUPER bags, which would be passed on to Samantha, Boss Ming and Boss Stewie to be packed into the paper bags along with the other goodies. Firdauz and I tied up the goody bags with strings and Arysan whisked the bags off to create more space for the production line. The two bosses supervised the little Nuffnang factory and chipped in help here and there when needed.

The goody bags when we just started:

And the goody bags when they were done!

The guys loading everything onto Boss Ming’s car:

When we reached VivoCity, we made sure that the banners and food were in place.

When were all still busy setting up the place, we were pleasantly surprised when our first blogger arrived just a little before 12 PM! The poor blogger didn’t get her name tag because the guys were still bringing things up from the car.

At 1215 PM, more people started streaming in and a queue was formed in front of the registration table.

Samantha, Suet Li and I were in charge of giving out stickers and tickets to the bloggers. Check out our Nuffnang stickers!

Now that the event is over, both Boss Ming and I had post-event blues! We moped around the office on Friday and couldn’t get much work done. Boss Ming even relieved his stress by making use of the Nuffnang stress ball – except that he didn’t squeeze it, he used it to throw at me :(

The Nuffnang team would like to thank everyone who made it down for the event. We welcome all feedback and will strive to make our next event a better one!

Regards

Things are starting to get interesting!!!

As the National Day event draws closer, things are starting to get interesting!

Take for example blackhighheels. Evelyn has come up with an interesting free-rider concept which I feel obligated to support because its such an original idea. As such, I will be allocating her 5 pairs of tickets to give away to support this interesting initiative.

Also, a personal favourite that just came in yesterday, one of our Nuffnangers decided to get his dog in on the act as well. It is hilarious. Perhaps “pa” should consider submitting this as one of singapore’s funniest animal videos. Of course he has won a pair of tickets for himself!

We still have tickets available, but they are running out! So write your entry today, email us at admin@nuffnang.com! See you on National Day!
