Nuffnang Singapore is proud to be supporting a brilliant anti-binge drinking campaign spearheaded by Asia Pacific Breweries (The makers of our very own Tiger Beer!).
Tomorrow, the 18th of December, marks the launch of the “Get Your Sexy Back” anti-binge drinking campaign. This youth for youth project seeks to promote moderate drinking as the new sexy, and features 40 ambassadors who believe that a fun night out does not require one to drink excessively.
This campaign is due to be launched at:
Zouk, 18th December, Tuesday, 1930H
and all Nuffnangers are welcome to attend the launch of this initiative. Simply
quote “Nuffnanger” at the entrance, and you will be granted entry!

Screening of National Treasure 2 (Another Community Event brought to you by Nuffnang)

It gives me great pleasure to announce an exclusive screening of Walt Disney Pictures’ National Treasure 2.
This movie will take place on premiere day itself, 19th of December 2007, 7 :15 pm, at Eng Wah Cinemas, Suntec
200 Tickets are up for grabs for Nuffnangers and their guests at this no frills community event.
All you have to do is write an entry entitled “What is our National Treasure?”
Our suggested format, is a picture of your national treasure, followed by a caption (2-3 sentences describing your choice), and a link to the National Treasure 2 site at www.bookofsecrets.com.sg. Email your blog entry url and name to nationaltreasure@nuffnang.com

Dear Nuffnangers,
It has been a fast paced two months since my last update. Growth has come from all quarters and the Nuffnang team could not be happier. I must thank all our bloggers for the continued and overwhelming support they have given us. These are some of the developments in Nuffnang Singapore.
Businessweek Feature for Nuffnang.com’s Founders
Timothy and myself are proud and grateful for having been nominated and then shortlisted as 2 of Asia’s Top Young Entrepeneurs by Businessweek Magazine.
As you know, Businessweek is a magazine of global repute and is widely regarded as one of the foremost business publications in the world.

Charity Collaboration with Nike
As mentioned in my previous email, being appointed partner in Nike Singapore’s Charity drive was a big honour for us.
Nike Singapore had a whole host of other partners to consider, but given the strength of our community, and also our close ties, Nuffnang was chosen.
I am happy to announce the charity drive has been a huge success for us and for Nike. To date over 6500 KM has been run by Nike plus users, translating to more than $32,000 worth of Nike products for underprivileged children. Far beyond numbers, you simply cannot put a price on the happiness of these kids this festive season. The drive is still on going, so logon to nikeplus.com.sg to record those runs.
*UPDATE ON NIKE PLUS SPORTS KITS GIVEAWAYS*- We have recieved hundreds of emails for just 20 sets of Nike Plus Sports Kits. These kits have just recently been delivered to our office, and we realise you need an ipod nano to use the kits. To ensure they are given away to the right people, we would appreciate it if entrants could send us another email to giveback@nuffnang.com, and indicate that you do indeed have an ipod nano.

Enchanted Event
For our second large scale community event, we hosted a no frills screening of Enchanted by Disney Pictures, on the Gala Premiere night, 19th Nov (Even before it had appeared for sneak previews!) at Great World City.
Within 10 minutes, we had recieved over 300 emails. Thousands of entries were recieved in totality.
I am pleased to announce the event was a great success. Many Nuffnangers attended and enjoyed the event immensely.
A gentle note for future events though. After confirmation of winning tickets, we took the extra step of ensuring people RSVP’d to confirm attendance. Unfortunately a small proportion of Nuffnangers did not turn up on the day. The Nuffnang community is a large one, with 5000+ members in Singapore, unused tickets for community events are high in demand, so if you cannot attend, do pass on the opportunity to the next person :-)
Panel Discussion at SWF 2007
Last Sunday, 2nd December, I had the privilege of speaking at the Singapore Writer’s Festival with the illustrious Kennysia and Mr Miyagi.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attended, and also the National Arts Council and The Arts House for organising such a splendid event.
Launch of Nuffnang 2.0
I am sure all of you have logged on to the revamped Nuffnang 2.0 site, and experienced the enhanced features the technical nuffies have been working so hard on.
If you’re wondering what exactly has been improved, you may review the blog post I wrote here. Nuffnang 2.0 is a work in progress, and further improvements will be made in coming months. Stay tuned!
