Let me define the word ‘Simply’ and why I’ve decided to use it to create my online persona.

‘Simply’ doesn’t really mean ‘Simple’. People keep saying, ‘You not very simple mah! Quite complicated leh!’ Then they start to created their own blog links like ‘complicated-john.blogspot.com’ bla bla bla. Yeah john’s not a real name. Anyway, this was actually a good ice breaker most of the time! :D ‘Simply’ actually just mean ‘Simply’! Not helping hor? Meaning I’m Simply Me. In this blog you find things that are ‘simply shawn’. Sounds corny la I know!

Well enough of the seemingly draggy introduction. I am SO PROUD to be selected to be the month’s featured blogger. I have joined Nuffnang for quite some time now, and only until few days ago Raine (a pretty nuffie) dropped me this unexpected email.

I’m going to make history, by becoming the 17th featured blogger of Nuffnang Singapore!

Hey becoming the featured blogger on Nuffnang is not just a small thing to me man! It’s about being listed with the big boys and girls in the Singapore blogosphere! Which also means, make it to this list and you’re big boys and girls. Makes no sense. Let’s carry on.

Well. Over at my blog: http://shavvn.com, I blog about interesting stuff that I see. Well of course, once in a blue moon you get to read some advertorials and contest entries. There’s a pretty good reason for that!

Advertorials gives me money. But if I WIN a contest, it gives me more money!

I have won quite a few prizes in my blogging time, and 1 of the prizes came from Nuffnang, my beloved iPod touch!

One of the best things about Nuffnang? No gimmicks! I remembered I was hesitant about joining them a few years back, but when I finally decided to just give it a go, there was only benefits, no loss!

This is one of the many Movie Screenings we have Can you spot me? I’m like 3 heads above Boss Ming and one head to the right. This is what happens when you have a community as big as Nuffnang.

Why did I join Nuffnang?

Well actually there was one point of time I wanted to find a way to earn money online, and not turn to those stupid websites offering you $10,000 per month, but run after taking your ‘registration fee’. Then I came across my friend’s blog, which was seemingly popular at that time, and he had this widget at the side. I was curious and found out that it was Nuffnang! Being desperate myself, I just signed up, and in a month, I was already running my first blog ad campaign!

If you ask me if I’ve regretted or not, I’ll give you a knock on your head and say NO!

In Nuffnang, other than giving you chances to earn precious ‘moolahs’ for serving ads, there’s also frequent contests, movie screenings, and awesome parties! The best part? ALL FREE!

Am I like writing too much for this entry? Because I really find that there’s endless stuff to talk about Nuffnang! Just one last point okay?

Well the most important part of Nuffnang is not money, not free movies, not cool contests, not awesome parties. It’s precious friends you make when you go for events!
