Sup fellow Nuffies! First off, I’d like to thank Nuffnang for giving this honor to me. It’s been a great year in 2009 and it is my greatest pleasure to begin the New Year with Nuffnang, as their featured blogger of January 2010.

My name is Carlsson Chee, affectionately known to others as flubberzz or The Dude, and I’m the author of The Dude’s Blog. I’m a Creative Professional, an Educator, a Technology freak/guru/geek/analyst (whatever you call it) and…. I’m a Mac Snob. Hehehe… Yeah, Macs rule (Linux is awesome too!). My ex-students had commented that that without smiling, I look fierce. So if you ever see me in public NOT SMILING, it doesn’t mean that I’m not friendly. In fact, I am approachable and I’d have no qualms about you coming up to say hi to me. Also, if you see me at libraries, don’t be surprised, because from time to time, I give talks on design at different public libraries. I run my own design company, which is why at times, I get terribly busy. And with limited time on hand, I might have neglected my blog a little, but I always come back to it. Not because I have to, but because there’s a mystical bond between my blog and myself. It’s like a part of me already. =)

Many people have asked me why I chose “flubberzz” as my nickname/URL. It’s a pretty long story, but I can say it has got totally nothing to do with the movie, “Flubber”. Having the nickname back in secondary school, naturally, I chose “flubberzz” as my blog’s URL.
In 2005, FLUBBERZZ.BLOGSPOT.COM was born!
Back then, my blog was created and it started off as something more personal. It was “locked” using a javascript code, and only people with the “password” could enter. Well, that was last time. If you flip back through my archives to the time where I first started blogging, my posts were totally laughable and amateurish. I would have posts TyPeD LiKe tHiS and have short boring posts about what happened for the day. From my first 3G phone that I paid over a thousand dollars for, as well as my Creative Zen Micro, to the current iPhone 3GS that I have today, you’d notice that technology is something which has always been constant in my blog.

Today, technology is one of my most covered topics on my blog. Let’s face it. Without technology, there won’t be blogs for you to read, or Internet to surf either. But I don’t just blog about tech stuff. I’m a foodie too, though I can be a finicky eater at times. During my free time, besides blogging, I like to chill at Starbucks, sipping on hot Caffé Mocha while I surf the web. It’s pretty cozy actually. I have to admit that once in a while, I indulge in retail therapy as well.

My sister first introduced Nuffnang to me in 2007. (Wow! Time flies.) I was hesitant to join at first, due to seeing other blogs with OTHER advertisers messing up the blogs (ads all over the place), making it look REALLY messy. She went, “I don’t know. Just try lor.” Which I’m glad I did. I’ll be very honest here. I like Nuffnang’s subtle take on advertisements, where it doesn’t disturb the reader, but enough to garner the reader’s attention. That’s perfect. Blogging while serving ads through Nuffnang is really an awesome way to earn extra *KA-CHING* by the side. I know. Because I did.
Oh, and there’re exclusive invites and contests to movies and private “Nuffnang-only” events for you to rave about! Being part of the Nuffnang community and earning *KA-CHING* while blogging was already good for me, but the good things didn’t just end there. In September 2009, my blog was one of the 5 finalists nominated for Best Geek Blog category, giving me the chance to meet other renowned bloggers from all over Asia-Pacific.

Having met the hardworking Nuffnang team, I can only say that if you join Nuffnang, your blog is DEFINITELY in safe hands, and you’ll definitely be getting your *KA-CHING* soon enough. I’ve met many awesome friends through Nuffnang and I only have them to thank for.
Well, I love Nuffnang. It’s definitely one of the best things that have happened to me. What are you waiting for? !! Last but not least, Happy New Year to everyone and have a great year ahead.
