If you like a chance to be Nuffnang's Featured Blogger Of The Month, contact us at helpdesk and tell us:
1) Who you are (Photos of yourself would be a bonus).
2) Why you think we just HAVE to make you the Featured Blogger Of The Month. If you are selected, a member of our Nuffnang Team will contact you.
If you are not selected, don't be disappointed. There are after all 12 months in a year.
To quote Oscar Wilde,
“Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.”
The transient and ever-evolving nature of fashion itself is the very fodder of which we blog from.
Hi everyone. We’re Arissa and Dawn of Monoxious.com, Nuffnang’s Blogger of the month.

Monoxious.com is the product of our intense love for everything monochrome. The blog was started a little over a year ago as a humble platform for us to share our interest in fashion as well as everything black which goes way back in each of our lives. Coming up with the name wasn’t an easy task. It took about a month of procrastination and brainstorming before we eventually decided on a name; A play on the words “Monochome” and “Obnoxious”. But of course, we’re not really that obnoxious, we just think that it is fun to annoy people and have them ask constantly if we only dress in black.
We have managed to combine our interests in photography and fashion by featuring our daily outfits in our blog. Other than trying to show people how interesting an outfit can be despite revolving around primarily monochromatic colours, we also feature DIYs of items which are currently in trend. We enjoy documenting the process and showing readers how easy it is to achieve runway looks with materials that are easily available, and prove that high fashion is really within reach for everyone. We have no lofty notions of radically altering the fashion scene in Singapore. Our only aim to inspire everyone to be creative and experimental in personalizing their owns style, and most of all to be confident in wearing what they love: Dress only for yourself and never be afraid to stand out. We also blog about runway collections, style inspirations, shops and labels which we find interesting and relevant to our interests.

Arissa’s interest in blogging goes way back to the year 2000, with her first blog hosted on opendiary.com which was one of the first online blogging community back in the days. She then went on to deadjournal (a parody site of livejournal) for about 4 years and finally to her own self-hosted minicloud.com
With a decreasing desire to blog about her personal life and an increasing inclination towards fashion which she studied back in school, she wanted to start a blog with a main focus on fashion as her own way of staying in touch with what she studied back in school. Dawn, Arissa’s bff and partner in crime, shared a similar interest in fashion and black clothing was roped in to start this fashion blog. Their similarities in taste, aesthetics and ideology proved to be a favorable combination when starting and maintaining monoxious.com.
Monoxious received its “big break” last year during the Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog awards where it was nominated for “Best Fashion Blog”. Back then, we have only started blogging for 5 months and it was a huge honor to be nominated amongst seasoned bloggers like BryanBoy and LadyMelbourne. Our traffic saw a significant change and it was very encouraging and motivating for a blog as young as ours. Needless to say this was an amazing experience, and fueled us to work harder to continue delivering interesting contents to our readers.
After the blog awards, we made the decision to signed up with Nuffnang and have received much love from the nuffies and other fellow bloggers on Nuffnang. Ming sat down with us in a meeting one day and spoke about the mechanics of how Nuffnang works and his vision in which he feels bloggers should be aiming at. Nuffnang fosters the feelings that you’re part of a family and every single blogger is important and valuable to them. Through events and activities organized by Nuffnang, we’ve made some awesome bloggers and some of us even meet regularly to discuss the mechanics of blogging. We have learned so much from other more experienced bloggers about important aspects of blogging that we hadn’t even known of, and that greatly contributed to our growth.
Needless to say, we also have the opportunity to earn extra cash just by blogging about what we love. It is truly an advantageous situation for both parties in this arrangement!
