Nuffnang Featured Blogger For the Month of May

Two years ago I submitted my resume to apply as an intern at SPH Magazines hoping to join the editorial team at a fashion magazine. However, because of my corporate communications major, I was assigned as an assistant to the corporate communications department. Although it was not what I expected but it turned out to be a fantastic opportunity, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and learnt so much.

During my internship, I was constantly surrounded by editors, models, photographers and an endless supply of newspapers and magazines and that translated into a myriad of idea for writing. And though I wrote many press releases and articles, the ideas far outweighed the opportunities. This problem gave birth to the idea of my blog, Cherry Magazine (www.mycherrymagazine.com). It became a place for my articles to be read by…me! And yes, I must say I was pretty happy visiting my own blog. But soon I started gaining some readers and I began posting more original pictures of my personal style. After a while, I started getting bored of seeing myself on the blog (I guess one can say I am my worst critic) so I took my tiny digital camera out to the streets and started photographing people who inspire me.

Now with my DSLR, it’s a full fledge obsession. i’m never without my camera and feel paranoial wihtout it thinking i’m going to miss a great picture.

When I’m not blogging, I work as a boutique ownder for my online vintage store (http://shop.nicolethen.com).

I joined Nuffnang after visiting some random blog during a time when I was joining every cute button link to add some cool widgets to my blog. I must say I am very happy that I stumbled upon Nuffnang and that they were the first web advertising agency that I joined.

They really take time to understand my values as a blogger and how they can play a part to enhance it.
